Abhyanga

What is an abhyanga? An application of warm oil to your body, using specific strokes to encourage the movement of lymph, decrease swelling, soothe tissue, soothe the nervous system, and stimulate circulation. The repetitive, gentle strokes are relaxing and meant to nourish you. These treatments are ideal for pretty much anyone and any point in life!

Fertility Abhyanga’s are just like a regular abhyanga, but add in elements of the Stephenson Method, increase circulation around the pelvis, and help bring the body into balance. They can help lower stress and anxiety around fertility by helping the mind and body be in a calmer, more balanced state.

Prenatal Abhyanga treatments are a wonderful time to rest and relax during your pregnancy! These treatments help reduce swelling, improve circulation, and really nourish you and your changing your body! They can be done at any point in pregnancy, but generally are more comfortable after 25 weeks. And our massage table is adjustable in height so you don’t have to lay flat on your back!

Postpartum Abhyanga treatments help draw the body back together after birth. They soothe the tired tissues, help reduce swelling and inflammation that is normal with pregnancy and birth. These are typically done anytime from 6 days after birth on, and in your home. We can also give your new little one an abhyanga!

How does it work?

I bring all of the supplies: adjustable massage table, special oil for your body’s needs, sheets, and everything else! Plan for about an hour an a half for the treatment, plus a little bit of set up and take down time. You can make the time special by having something nice to drink while I get set up!

You provide enough space for me and a massage table to fit, and you! It’s pretty straightforward. Have questions? Let me know!

Investment: $200 in-home treatment for regular or fertility abhyanga within 30 min of Addison. Prenatal and postpartum abhyangas are $310 for a single treatment, plus $20 table rental if needed. $250 each for 3+ treatments, plus $20 per week table rental. Trip charge for further.
