A personalized yoga practice built entirely around your body
Group yoga classes aren’t right for every body
I love yoga in all its forms — but the truth is, a group class can’t give you what your body actually needs if you’re dealing with an injury, a health condition, a major life transition like pregnancy or postpartum recovery, or simply years of feeling like yoga “wasn’t for you.”
In a group class, the teacher designs the practice for the room. In a private session, the practice is designed entirely for you — your body, your goals, your limitations, and your life.
That’s the difference. And it changes everything.
Private yoga sessions are a perfect fit if you…
- Are recovering from an injury or surgery and need a safe, modified practice
- Are postpartum and want gentle movement that supports your healing body
- Have a chronic illness or autoimmune condition (fibromyalgia, MS, lupus, chronic pain, chronic fatigue) and need yoga that works with your energy, not against it
- Are a complete beginner who feels intimidated or lost in group classes
- Are a senior looking for joint-friendly, strength-building movement
- Are pregnant and want prenatal yoga that adapts as your body changes week to week
- Have limited mobility and want yoga that truly meets you where you are
- Want to build a consistent home practice with expert, personalized guidance
- Have tried yoga before and felt like it just wasn’t for you — it is, I promise
Meet your private yoga teacher, Jessie King
E-CYT 200 | CPYT | CD | AyurDoula
My yoga journey started in Austin when I was a child — yoga was actually part of the curriculum at my school, and I loved it from the start. I grew up with yoga books around the house and many mornings my mom would find me practicing before breakfast.
It wasn’t until 2007 that I found a studio I truly loved and built a more consistent practice. Life moved around a lot after that, so I mostly practiced at home, showing up to workshops and classes wherever I could find them.
In 2017, after years of wanting to complete teacher training, I made it happen — earning my 200-hour certification from Alpha Omega Yoga, a Registered Yoga Alliance school. In 2019 I completed my prenatal yoga teacher training and began a mentorship in Ayurvedic care during pregnancy and postpartum, which deepened the work I was already doing as a certified doula.
What I’ve learned across years of teaching in gyms, homes, rec centers, retreats, and even once outside with goats: yoga can happen anywhere, and it’s for absolutely everyone.
“My strength in teaching is to help you be more flexible by becoming stronger — to ease pain and discomfort so you can move better through your daily life.”
— Jessie King, E-CYT 200, CPYT, CD, AyurDoula
I especially love working with seniors, people with limited mobility, and anyone who has felt left behind by the fitness world. My classes look less like a typical flow and more like a thoughtful exploration of how you move — incorporating resistance bands, weights, and whatever your body needs that day.
How private yoga sessions work
Step 1 — Free Consultation
We start with a conversation. I want to understand your history with movement, any injuries or health considerations, and what you’re hoping to get from our work together. No commitment, no pressure — just a chance to see if we’re a good fit.
Step 2 — Your Initial Evaluation
In our first session, we take time to assess how your body moves, where you hold tension, and what goals matter most to you. This becomes the foundation of your personalized practice.
Step 3 — Personalized Sessions
Every session is designed around where your body is that day — not a preset sequence. We work toward your short-term goals (relieving hip tension, building core strength, improving sleep) and longer-term intentions (increased range of motion, less pain, more ease in daily life).
Step 4 — Your Practice Evolves With You
As you grow and change, so does your practice. Many clients come weekly or bi-weekly; others book as needed. There’s no rigid structure — we build something that actually fits your life.

What my clients are saying
“I came to Jessie wanting to increase my flexibility and support my bike riding — but also because I have neuropathy that affects my walking, standing stability, and balance. Over our time working together, I noticed real improvement in the flexibility in my feet and I became much better able to hold balancing positions. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d look forward to our sessions. Jessie’s calming demeanor made everything feel relaxed and safe, and her genuine concern for my physical situation meant so much. The final resting practice with the accompanying music was always my favorite part. I truly miss our sessions — and I should mention that my dog Miles had a habit of snoring through the quiet moments.”
— Mac, Dallas
Still think you’re too stiff, injured, or out of shape for yoga?
I hear this all the time. And I understand why — most yoga content out there shows bendy, flexible bodies in advanced poses, which sends the message that yoga requires a certain kind of body to begin with.
It doesn’t. Your body doesn’t need to be anything other than what it is right now.
I’ve spent years working with people who came to me convinced yoga wasn’t for them — people in chronic pain, post-surgery, postpartum, living with autoimmune conditions, or just deeply skeptical of the whole thing. In almost every case, we found a version of the practice that worked, that felt good, and that made a real difference.
That’s the whole point of private yoga: we build your practice, not a practice you have to fit yourself into.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens in a private yoga session?
We start with a brief check-in about how you’re feeling that day. Then I guide you through a practice I’ve designed specifically for your body and goals — whether that’s restorative movement, targeted work on a specific area, breathwork, Yoga Nidra, or a more active flow. Sessions typically run 60–75 minutes.
How is private yoga different from a group class?
In a group class, everything is designed for the room. In a private session, every pose, every modification, every pace and focus point is chosen specifically for you. No keeping up, no comparing, no one-size-fits-all approach.
Do I need any yoga experience?
None at all. Private sessions are actually ideal for beginners — you learn proper alignment and movement from day one, without the pressure of a group setting. Many of my clients had never done yoga before their first session.
How much do private yoga sessions cost in Dallas?
Sessions are $125 per hour. Package options are available — ask during your free consultation.
Where do sessions take place?
I come to you. Your home, backyard, or any space with room for a yoga mat. I serve Dallas, Richardson, Addison, Farmers Branch, Carrollton, and surrounding areas. Virtual sessions are available nationwide.
Can you work with my injury or chronic condition?
Yes — this is some of my most meaningful work. I have extensive experience designing safe practices for people recovering from injuries, living with chronic pain, autoimmune conditions, and more. I always recommend staying in communication with your doctor or physical therapist, and I’m happy to collaborate with them directly.
How often should I do private yoga?
Most clients see the best results with weekly or bi-weekly sessions, especially in the beginning. That said, even monthly sessions create meaningful change. We’ll discuss what makes sense for your goals and schedule during your consultation.
Do you offer virtual private yoga sessions?
Yes — virtual private yoga is available to clients anywhere. It’s just as personalized as in-person and works incredibly well. Many clients say they actually prefer the ease and convenience of practicing from home.
What should I wear and bring?
Comfortable clothing you can move in. If you have a yoga mat, great — if not, I bring props and supplies. Just have water nearby.
Do you work with pregnant or postpartum clients?
Absolutely — this is a specialty of mine. I’m a certified prenatal yoga teacher and an Ayurvedic doula, so I bring both movement expertise and holistic postpartum care knowledge to sessions with pregnant and new parents. Learn more about postpartum care →
